PRESS: Rosneft may start duty-free fuel export to Abkhazia, S Ossetia

MOSCOW, Nov 24 (PRIME) -- The government can give oil major Rosneft an exclusive right to export fuel from Russia to Abkhazia and South Ossetia without export duties for six months under the indicative balances, business daily RBC reported on Friday citing a letter by Deputy Economic Development Minister Dmitry Volvach and draft orders.

The government is considering abolishing the flexible export duties for Abkhazia and South Ossetia introduced since October 1 until the end of 2024 in order to protect the market from an unjustified price increase. The duty abolishment will cover a wide range of goods, including oil products.

"The government will also give Rosneft and its affiliates an exclusive right to export oil products from Russia for six months without paying export duties in the framework of indicative balances (protocols)," RBC reported.
